During each phone call, she encouraged us to reach out to hospital and hospice staff to make sure they knew that what we were asking was within our rights. The hospital staff was very gracious, and provided us with refreshments, as well as beautifully peaceful music. A nurse stayed with us to help with the washing of Mom's body, placing her into the casket, and transporting her to the waiting van. She was buried in a simple pine casket according to her wishes.
